Self-Reflection Questionnaire

IN WHICH COUNTRY SHOULD I STUDY ABROAD?


The world is your classroom, your playground, and your opportunity to grow beyond limits.


Below are a list of questions to help answer where you want to study. I encourage you to journal your answers and do a side-by-side country comparison to see which destination aligns with you the best.


Go where you feel alive—the world was meant to be explored, not just imagined!


ACADEMIC GOALS

  1. What subject/major do I want to study when I travel overseas? 

2. Does this city offer a strong academic program that further enhances my major? 

3. Are the credits transferable back to my university where I am currently studying at? 

4. How can learning a second language strengthen my international career goals?


PERSONAL GROWTH AND IDENTITY

5. In what kind of an environment will I grow as a person?

6. What type of experience am I looking for – adventure, comfort, challenge, or transformation? 

7. To what extent am I willing to change myself?

BUDGET/FINANCIAL QUESTIONS

12. What would be a realistic budget that I could live off of? 

13. What countries have an affordable cost of living?  

14. Are scholarships and/or financial aid available for the country/countries that I am interested in? 

15. Am I allowed to work or intern while abroad?


SAFETY AND COMFORT

16. Is the area that I am considering safe? 

17. Do I prefer large or small cities or even small rural environments?

18. How important is access to healthcare (hospitals and doctor offices) for me?

19. What type of weather do I like living in? 


SOCIAL AND LIFESTYLE

20. What kind of a social life do I want to have?

21. How important are day trips, cultural and travel excursions, and nightlife to me? 

22. What would my daily routine look like? 


CAREER AND FUTURE VISION

23. What are the benefits for me studying abroad ?

24. How important is it to have access to internships and networking opportunities while studying abroad? 

25. Would employers value and appreciate this experience listed on my resume?

26. How will this study abroad program enhance my academic, professional, and soft skills?
